Eco-Friendly Ways To Remove Ice Melt

Eco-Friendly Ways To Remove Ice Melt

There are several brands of ice melt on the market; and each year it seems as though more brands keep popping up! The issue is that very few of these are eco-friendly solutions to help get rid of the snow. In most cases, they can be harmful to not only the environment but your property as well. Removing the snow is inevitable, but you have several more environmentally friendly ways to do it. Here are a few of our favorites:

  • Use The Right Ice Melt: One of the best methods is to trade your harmful ice melt for one of our eco-friendly versions. At Green Ice Melt, we have a wide range of products dedicated to melting the snow in a safer fashion. You can find a full list of products not just for the sidewalks, but the roofs, windshield, and much more here on our products page.
  • Use A Snow Blower: Depending on how much you have to plow, it might be more beneficial to invest in a snowblower. It’s much more efficient than physically shoveling the snow. If possible, avoid using gas-powered ones. Instead switch to electric, battery, or even a hybrid style.
  • Go Old School: If you don’t have a large area to get rid of the snow, take it back a few years. Get a shovel, a broom, and an ice cracker. Some time and elbow grease, you’ll be able to get the stairs, walkway, and other areas of your home cleared out without worrying about which type of ice melt you have. At the very least you won’t have to worry about using as much ice melt.

There’s still time to get ready for winter! Visit our shop for the eco-friendly ice melt you can trust!
